Around 75% of the Russian broiler industry was represented at a three-day technical seminar organised by Cobb Europe at the village of Zvenigorod, in the Moscow region.
More than 120 participants took part including some from former Soviet countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, in an event covering hatchery, rearing, brooding, nutrition and parent stock management presented by speakers from the Cobb World Technical Support Team.
Cobb Europe general manager, Roy Mutimer, opened the seminar, and among the speakers was sales and technical director Pelayo Casanovas, who spoke of the combination of a good breeder delivering a high number of chicks through good hatchability, a good broiler not needing expensive feed and a high yield in the processing plant giving Russian customers the potential to maximise their profits.
He said the growing strength of Cobb in the Russian market was demonstrated by building up a market share of 25% in only a few years.
One of the delegates, Ivan Shedrov from the company Chicken Kingdom, stated: “The combination of excellent technical service with a robust breeder and broiler will give us the maximum profit. I am convinced Cobb will be market leader in Russia in the near future.”
