Discovering alternatives to antibiotics – Where do we go from here?

New strategies for the control of the microbial/immune and immune/ nonlymphoidal interfaces are critical in discovering alternatives to antibiotics as growth promoters. These strategies must not result in resistant microbes and must enhance or maintain immune function.
