Dutch mega poultry farm forced to shut

28-08-2008 | | |

One of the biggest poultry farms in the Netherlands has to close its doors before September 1st 2008.

The farm, which houses 200,000 birds, does not have an environmental permit to pursue business and is causing excessive bad odour for the environment.
Earlier, the local authority of Groesbeek (where the farm is situated) received a penalty of €35,000 if the farm was not empty before 1 September.
