Mumbai-based Godrej Tyson Foods, which is the joint venture between Indian company Godrej Agrovet and Tyson Foods Inc., is launching new ready-to-cook foods.
The company is launching new ready-to-cook foods for India’s middle-class families and also entering the ready-to-eat foods category, reports state. According to Godrej, the new ready-to-cook items are targeted at working couples who don’t have time to cook.
At the moment, the joint venture has two poultry brands – Yummiez, a frozen food brand, and Real Good Chicken, a retail-fresh brand.
“Both the brands are our focus area. But we plan to launch products in the ready-to-cook space because we think that area is growing,” Godrej-Tyson CEO Sadiq Malik has stated.
Malik further stated that the ready-to-cook category is growing at 25% per year.
