New awards for the best Cobb500 broiler breeder flocks in Turkey have been won by Senpiliç and Banvit, two of the leading companies in the country.
The Şenpiliç breeder team received an award from Cobb Turkey for their top Cobb500 SF breeder flock which was also the best in Turkey during 2014 – their Orhanlı production farm reaching 150 chicks/breeder at 64 weeks. The award was given to Şenpiliç vice general manager Mehmet İyneci by Matthew Wilson, Cobb Europe technical manager, Zekeriya Yıldırım, production manager for Cobb Turkey and Mert Yalçınalp, technical manager of Cobb Turkey.
Şenpiliç is one of the biggest poultry integrations in Turkey, established in 1978 and now with around 3,000 employees. Its annual breeder capacity is 1.4 million with the Cobb500 having the major share.
The Cobb500 FF breeder flock award went to Banvit for their Şükran Orhan breeder farm, which reached 155 chicks/breeder for their best Cobb500 FF flock to 64 weeks of age, again the top performing in the country. This award was presented to Erdal Elmas, live production coordinator, and Halil Yılmaz, breeder manager, by Mert Yalçınalp.
Banvit was established in 1968 and has grown into a major poultry producer which supplies the Turkish food market with cattle beef as well as poultry products.
The presentation to Şenpiliç took place during four seminars where members of the Cobb World Technical Support Team gave presentations to around 800 of their broiler growers from different regions in the company of top and middle management. Topics included broiler health, management techniques and biosecurity.
