Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board data revealed at a recent seminar in Jakarta discussing about livestock investment in Indonesia, showed that Indonesia’s poultry industry counts two new foreign investors, from Malaysia. The two investors are Southeast Asia QL Resources Bhd (QL) and CCK Consolidated Holdings Bhd (CCK).
In 2010, QL has invested about US$ 20 million to build commercial layer farms in Cianjur, West Java.
The closed house systems and facilities were supplied by Big Dutchman. According to QL Indonesia COO Cecep Moch Wahyudin, at this time, the total population of the farms amounts to 1.6 million laying hens, producing 15 tons of eggs per day.
In the coming year, he said, QL Indonesia will diversify their egg production and produce liquid and powdered egg.
CCK has invested about US$ 2 million. Of this money, CCK has built a further processing plant in Pontianak, West Kalimantan to produce chicken hot dog and burger. To sell these foods, CCK has also opened 4 stores located in different location in Pontianak.
