Ovostar Union, one of the largest egg producers in Ukraine, increased egg production in 2013 by 24% on year-to-year comparison to 893 mln eggs against 719 mln eggs in 2012, says the report of the company.
The volume of eggs sold increased by 32% to 585 mln from 445 mln in the same period previous year. As at 31 December 2013 the total flock of the company increased by 19% compared to the level of 2012 to 5.0 mln hens from 4.2 mln hens as at 31 December 2012. According to report, laying hens flock increased by 24% on year-to-year comparison to 3.9 mln hens against 3.1 mln laying hens in 2012.
Over 2013 the Company processed 266 mln eggs, while in 2012 this figure amounted to 254 mln eggs. As a result, sales volumes of liquid and dry egg products increased by 35% to 6,803 tons and by 8% to 1,508 tons on year-to-year comparison against 5,032 tonnes and 1,398 tonnes, respectively.
Also Ovostar Union report that in January 2014 the production capacity expansion program on the territory of Vasylkiv laying hens site has been successfully completed.
