Perdue Farms to get US$1.3 mln for expansion project
Perdue Farms is to receive US$1.3 million in grant money from Delaware to expand its processing plant in Milford.
Delaware’s Council on Development Finance approved a performance grant this week of up to $700,000 for the company for job creation. They also approved a capital expenditure grant of up to $600,000.
Officials say Perdue plans to add 350 workers by September at its Milford plant, which will process organically grown chicken under the name of Coleman Natural Foods.
Perdue Farms bought Coleman in 2011 and earlier this year they announced their plans to close Coleman’s Booth Creek Natural Chicken processing plant in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, and moving production elsewhere.
