Seven indicted at poultry processing plant

Seven employees of George’s Processing Inc. have been arrested and charged with hiring illegal immigrants.

In May of this year, George’s poultry processing plant in southwest Missouri by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Consequently, 136 illegal immigrants were arrested.
According to John F. Wood, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri, the seven indicted employees were all involved in hiring or supervising employees at George’s Butterfield facility. Four of the seven were also charged with aiding and abetting aggravated identity theft for allegedly helping illegal immigrants use others’ valid Social Security numbers.
