The Flanders Poultry Cluster has opened registration for their seminar ‘Optimising performance in poultry’. The seminar will be held on 5 October in Kigali, Rwanda, and gives an excellent opportunity to combine networking at the Poultry Africa event and in-depth knowledge transfer at the seminar.

The 2-hour seminar, organised by poultry consultant firm, Vetworks, and with the support of media partner, Poultry World, will focus on the best management and farm practices in poultry production. Subjects will cover animal health, nutrition and farm management.

To get the best performance the farmer has to learn best practices how to manage the flock from the very first day. Even if the house is well equipped to provide all needed comfort, the farmer has to look at the birds signals every day.

The farmer is the first to observe if the birds are challenged, for example, with heat stress, and he should know what to do and take prompt action to keep the birds happy in their environment. The farmer is also responsible for biosecurity on his farm, which is the best way to keep disease out and make a good profit in poultry production.

Speakers are poultry consultant Hilde van Meirhaeghe and Vetworks specialist Tiago Prucha. The live event will start on 5 October at 14.30 in room AD 10 in the Kigali Convention Centre. The Flanders Poultry Cluster has the proud support of Vetworks, Poultry World, Geldof Poultry, Evonik, Intraco, Poultec and Roodbont publishers.
