Many pathogens that cause chronic diseases in birds use the respiratory tract as a primary route of infection, and respiratory disorders are the main leading source of financial losses in the poultry business. Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) and Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV), are particularly serious viral respiratory pathogens causing serious impact either alone or with concomitant infection with bacterial agents1 In this context, epidemiological updates and best practices sharing are the foundation to effectively tackle these major viruses compromising respiratory integrity in your poultry operations.

Newcastle Disease
Genotype VII isolates are the most important group of NDV reported since 2000 and have been identified in several disease outbreaks across Asia, the Middle East, South America, and South Africa.2

Infectious Bronchitis
Besides the IBV classical strain (Massachusetts), there are dozens of variant strains spreading worldwide, such as GI 23 lineage strains which have been spreading to multiple geogrpahies worlwide.3
